Welcome to School Of Christian Ministry (to give it its full title) and thank you ever so much for taking the time to find out what it is all about.

The best way to describe S.O.C.M. is probably, a big name for a small idea. It’s a bit of a mouthful and if you use the shortened version it can even sound quite offensive. The second most important thing about S.O.C.M. is that it is for YOU. It is to equip you to equip others, in your church, your Christian Union, your cell/small group and really anywhere you might have the chance to open your Bible. We want to invest in you because we want you to invest in God’s word. This being the second most important thing, what is the first I hear you say?

Well the first most important thing about S.O.C.M. -- the reason it exists -- is to glorify God by doing ministry in His world His way. A sub-plot to the whole ‘School Of Christian Ministry’ thing could be, ‘Word ministry IS miracle ministry’. What does this mean? Well let me put it to you like this: if you want to see people’s lives not just made better, but made brand new; if you want to see your own Christian life grow and flourish, then here is the key -- ‘Word ministry IS miracle ministry’. And so this is why we do what we do every time we meet -- it is our raison d’etre. We believe that when we teach the Word (whatever the location or situation) in prayerful dependence on the Holy Spirit, the poor are made rich, the lame walk, and heck even the dead are brought to life. Joy, in other words.

So there you have it. We do pray that by God’s grace He will continue to work that miracle in our lives and use us in some small measure to achieve His purposes in the lives of others.
