prayer information
Jesus said, 'If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." Paul said, "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving." Paul also said, "Brothers, pray for us." |
J.C. Ryle said, “Prayer has obtained things that seem impossible and out of reach. It has won victories over fire, air, earth and water. Prayer opened the Red Sea. Prayer brought forth water from the Rock and bread from Heaven. Prayer made the sun stand still. Prayer brought fire from the sky on Elijah’s sacrifice. Prayer overthrew the army of Sennacherib. Prayer has healed the sick. Prayer has raised the dead. Prayer has procured the conversion of countless souls.”

Pray for the people he visits, the Bible studies he conducts, and for God’s help and power to minister to those in need. In the Republic of Ireland, Mark Ryan is our street outreach worker in Dublin. He is involved in evangelistic outreach and speaks at 'The Happy Hour' Bible study on Tuesday nights for those who came off the streets into ICM for Gospel ministry.
Wednesday Thank God for the work of our full-time staff, David Martin and Lois Hagger, as well as our apprentices, Ben Hewitt, Jeremy Haworth, Cormac Walsh, and Jillian Lyttle amongst students. Pray for plans to evangelize and train students in the new academic year in September/October. Thank God for the growth of the Sunday evening student meeting and pray for further growth. Pray for the School of Christian Ministry (SOCM) where Christian students are trained to share their faith with other students.
Thursday The vision of ICM is to evangelize the peoples of Ireland. Our mission to achieve this goal is to recruit and train up a new generation of Gospel workers. We are currently using the Ministry Training Strategy (MTS) as the means to train up young men and women for Gospel ministry in Ireland. Pray that many young Irish Christians will be willing to be trained through this 2 year MTS course for the work of the Gospel in Ireland. Currently, each Thursday the 'Re:Source' training programme hosted in ICM is training young Gospel workers for ministry.
Friday Pray for the work of ICM amongst people from overseas who have come to seek asylum, or study, or work in Ireland. Each Friday afternoon (from 12.30-2.00pm), ICM host an ‘English corner’ where international students, Asylum-seekers and overseas workers are able to practice their English conversation skills with staff and helpers from ICM. This is proving very popular, and from it we offer a Bible –study for those who seek to understand the Gospel. We are now preparing a second round of Bible studies. Students show great interest. Pray for this to continue.
Saturday Pray for the people of Ireland that God may be pleased to bless us through the preaching of the Gospel, and that many Irish men and women may become followers of Jesus Christ.
Sunday Pray for the ICM church plant, Immanuel Church Dublin, that meets on Sunday mornings at 11am and 6.45pm. Thank God that the church has been growing slowly over the past few years, especially with asylum-seekers and students. Pray that growth will continue steadily as God’s Word is preached faithfully and God’s people are faithful in prayer.
